Coming to Louisiana!!

 

 

 

Cottonplant is located about 30 miles south of Monroe, Louisiana and about 12 miles out of Grayson, Louisiana.

I have raised meat and Dairy goats over the past 15 years and finally came to the conclusion that the Nubians were the breed of choice for me.

With their whimsical and vocal way of charming you, how could not fall in love with such a creature.

 

After much trial and error, I have finally settled on the style of Nubian that fits me. A well balanced Doe with correct body type, strong Nubian characteristics, excellent mammaries, and wonderful temperaments especially when it comes time to milk.

I'd like to thank Becky Goldthwaite for letting me acquire and lease several of her wonderful animals and for giving me guidance when needed.

Over the years it has been a struggle for me to keep my herd together due to the traveling and living away from home while working on various projects, however the lord has blessed me many times in providing me assistance when I've needed it.

The health and management of the girls and boys are very important to us. I try to keep them on herbs as much as possible to ensure a healthy immune system. All animals are on a regular worming program, only using chemical wormers when absolutely necessary and  vaccinated. We feed a 12% custom dry mix to dry does & bucks, adding extra protein to growing babies, a 16% custom dairy mix to milkers, alfalfa hay, and or Timothy/Alfalfa mix, Goldenblend minerals, kelp, and additional supplements when needed. Additionally, all does are tested once a year using WSU or Bio Tracking, all births are attended and  are raised separately on a CAE preventative program.

We are still under some extreme makeovers and moves. We will be located in Louisiana but will also have some stock at our second home in Livingston, TX and some bucks and does with Wendy Tinney (Dazed By Grace) in Dobbin, TX.
